First Friday

Welcome everybody, as we get started up here at the the St. Eds Blog! In regard to first Friday I will have to do some research. Although Friday is getting really close and we would need volunteers for the average cleaning – sanitizing in the Church. In regards to Parath in the first reading from Jeremiah yesterday: It could be translated as the Euphrates River although that was a long way from where Jeremiah was. It could refer to a town in local area. It refers to an area that Jeremiah was to hide this particular loin cloth. The idea is that when neglected the Loin Cloth rotted and the Lord Responded:

So also I will allow the pride of Judah to rot,
the great pride of Jerusalem.
This wicked people who refuse to obey my words,
who walk in the stubbornness of their hearts,
and follow strange gods to serve and adore them,
shall be like this loincloth which is good for nothing.
For, as close as the loincloth clings to a man’s loins,
so had I made the whole house of Israel
and the whole house of Judah cling to me, says the LORD;
to be my people, my renown, my praise, my beauty.  But they did not listen.

Jeremiah 13:9-11

Our god has been very close to us as well, let us not allow Pride so enter our Hearts that we forget to Love God and Neighbor! Blessings everyone +

    It has been awhile, We here at the Church are Celebrating Sacraments with our people. Most specifically our confirmation Candidates of recent date! It is great joy to bring the Sacraments to the you the People of God! I pray all is going well with you and call you to Trust in the Lord as he is ultimately in control of all!

    Remember, You no longer have to pre-register for Mass, although we need to respect our quota which at this time is 75. Mask, Social Distancing and using hand sanitizer is still required. Today is the Feast of Maximilian Kolbe A Franciscan priest who went to the gas chamber in the place of a married Man. Now that is Sacrifice and it makes wearing a Mask and social distancing look like a cake walk!
